Workshops Earn Shoutout at Missouri Manufacturing Convention

Missouri workshops received notable recognition at the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) Midwest Manufacturers Trade Show & Conference, Feb. 20-21 in Branson.

Workshops joined the event as part of an initiative by Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe begun in 2022. His office’s Buy Missouri program launched an agreement with MASWM, MAM, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Buy Missouri Program operated through his office.

This second year of workshop participation in the convention brought an increased presence. Workshop displays were in a high-traffic area so they could better show off goods and services to potential manufacturing customers.

Workshops received several accolades during event. In their opening keynote address, both Lt. Gov. Kehoe and MAM Executive Director Michael Eaton spoke highly of the Buy Missouri collaboration with the sheltered workshops.

MASWM President Rob Libera was called to speak when a scheduled presenter was unable to make the trade show. Libera discussed the benefits of sourcing work to sheltered workshops.
