Fulton Workshop Earns Perfect Safety Score

Callaway County Extended Employment in Fulton recently earned a benchmark score of 100 percent in the SWIM Risk Control Assessment and Physical Hazard Survey.

SWIM (Sheltered Workshop Insurance of Missouri) Risk Control Consultant Ryan Papiernik, GSP, CPSI, praised the Fulton workshop’s efforts to ensure a safe environment.

“The score is based on safety and risk management practices combined with a scoring of your loss ratio percentage,” Papiernik wrote. “The benchmark is a tool that we can utilize to develop and implement pertinent risk management program for your facility. Your loss ratio used for your facility was zero percent.”

Workshop General Manager Marla Mason had a dramatic reaction. “WOW!  WOW!  WOW!” she said. “SO PROUD OF MY TEAM!!!”

SWIM is not new, but not all workshops are aware of its benefits. These include efforts like refunds when losses are less than income, or the inspections and advice from professionals like Papiernik.

Missouri workshops have a long and beneficial partnership with SWIM. Many of MASWM’s shops are SWIM members while several MASWM leaders are on the organization’s board of directors.

For managers like Mason, it’s less complicated. “I’m just so proud of my team!”
