Fulton Workshop Gets Community Help, News Focus

The Fulton Sun newspaper recently featured 14 volunteers who provided some much-appreciated help for Callaway County Extended Employment in Fulton.

General Manager Marla Mason shared a March 14 article by Anakin Bush that described how 14 members of Westminster College's Delta Omicron Chapter of Delta Tau Delta helped remove a section of fence on CCEE's property. Even late winter rain and cold didn’t stop them from removing a long section of fence that needed removal.

CCEE currently employs adults with disabilities for a variety of jobs and community help like this is a big plus, Mason said. “We are thankful for the support this great community gives us in our vision to help employees reach their full potential,” she noted. “We all want to thank Westminster Delta Tau Delta men for their incredible help. We certainly appreciate their tenacity and dedication.” Also on hand was Katie Sheerin, CCEE production manager.

The folks at CCEE hope this isn’t the last visit by the fraternity members. “The cool thing is that these guys said they would gladly come back and do other volunteer work for us,” Mason said. “We are planning to have them paint another length of fence in a month or so.” She noted that groups like this are required to do a certain number of service hours per year and some may be a resource other shops could consider.
