Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe Announces Buy Missouri Week 2024

Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe has announced the annual statewide Buy Missouri Week will be held Saturday, October 12, through Saturday, October 19, 2024. As designated by the Missouri Legislature, Buy Missouri Week encourages citizens to purchase Missouri-made products in support of Missouri businesses and manufacturers.

“Buy Missouri Week is a great time to showcase the many incredible products made in our state. When we buy Missouri, we are creating jobs, investing in entrepreneurship, and keeping our hard-earned dollars in the local economy,” Lieutenant Governor Kehoe said. “My small business background has allowed me to better understand the importance of supporting small and local businesses. Claudia and I have enjoyed meeting many Buy Missouri members from across the state, hearing their stories, and learning more about the products they manufacture.”

The Buy Missouri economic development initiative was pioneered by Governor Mike Parson in 2017 during his time as lieutenant governor. In 2018, Senate Bill 891, establishing Buy Missouri Week, was signed into law after being sponsored by then-Senator Mike Kehoe and receiving overwhelming bipartisan support in both legislative chambers.

Buy Missouri Week has special significance for the state’s workshops. In 2022, Kehoe brought together MASWM, leaders of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM), to sign a Memorandum of Collaboration. The mission of the agreement is to increase awareness of the capabilities of each organization, to promote Missouri manufacturing, products and services, and to provide employment and training opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and the community at large.
