Cooper County Groups Recognized NDEAM

Unlimited Opportunities and Boonslick Industries celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) on Oct. 13.  Employees from all four of businesses, BI Recycling Center, Savvy Seconds, Rest Area contract, and glove sorting contract participated.

The activities included a meal prepared by members and clients of the Day Program. Participants received t-shirts to recognize the staff and employees engaged in disability employment options in Cooper County.

Celebrated each October, NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, but its foundation is at the grassroots level across the nation, including throughout Missouri. Equally important, the decades-long push to provide employment for people with disabilities is just as important today than it was when few opportunities existed.
