Randolph County Sheltered Industries played a big role at a recent article by Connie Duvall featured in the Moberly Monitor-Index on a town-hall meeting held by U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill.

The meeting, held at Moberly City Hall, included discussions on healthcare, veterans benefits, small community libraries and more. Of interest to managers, a big topic also included workshops. Senator McCaskill publicly expressed her support for Missouri's sheltered workshop program and took time to sign an autograph for Jerome Troy, an employee of Randolph County Sheltered Workshop.

Workshop Executive Director Kit Brewer attended the meeting to submit questions on the Senator’s stand regarding sheltered workshops. Brewer was pleased Senator McCaskill was supportive of the wage structure in place, including Section 14c of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which has a major impact on keeping Missouri’s workers with disabilities employed.
