MAG Hosts Congressman and Family, State Officials
Manufacturers Assistance Group in Poplar Bluff was honored to host guests Congressman Jason Smith and his aides, along with State Board of Education member, Eddy Justice and his wife Penny, Missouri House Speaker Todd Richardson and MoDESE Sheltered Workshop Section Director Dan Gier to the sheltered workshop on Oct. 16.
The group enjoyed a tour of the workshop, observing and visiting with MAG employees as they completed their daily job tasks. Discussions were held concerning issues that sheltered workshops have faced in the past few years and continue to face with government regulations and legislation affecting sheltered workshop operations in Missouri.
Congressman Smith was very knowledgeable about Missouri sheltered workshops and is committed to keeping them in operation in the state of Missouri. Although this was Congressman Smith’s first visit to the workshop, Mr. Justice and Mr. Richardson have both previously visited MAG. They all support the work being done and continue to support Missouri sheltered workshops.
